Digital Artists and Teachers
The Etherington Brothers work in pen and ink as well as with digital tools. As evidence of their digital bona fides, they provided the Wacom digital pen company with a free, child-oriented Crash Course in Drawing Comics, but it’s unclear how much of their massive portfolio online started on paper and how much started on the screen.
Because their work is a mix of digital and physical, because it’s reminiscent of Golden Age comic-book style, because it’s highly instructive, because it spans two decades and it’s difficult to date, but mostly because it’s fun, I’m including a sample in the gallery below (even though it may not strictly qualify for this assignment).
My evaluation is that I like their work and I continue to learn from it.
