    Though many people consider daily newspapers a dying medium — and, to be honest, many publications indeed are no longer being printed for distribution to 7-Elevens and driveways — newspapers still play a major role in American journalism. Especially those still-printed newspapers that serve as the primary source of local news in smaller communities. As do electronic facsimiles of newspapers that provide the familiar look and feel of print via digital platforms.

    Content Solutions at People Inc. is a prime example of a multifaceted turnkey operation that provides artwork, advertising, prepackaged illustrated articles and fully developed magazines for a variety of clients on print and digital platforms alike. For this entry, I chose the team’s creations using photographic art. Some of the photos are of styled objects; others are crafted through the assembly of disparate elements. Some are simple photos that represent the product elegantly.

    Digital Artists and Teachers

    The Etherington Brothers work in pen and ink as well as with digital tools. As evidence of their digital bona fides, they provided the Wacom digital pen company with a free, child-oriented Crash Course in Drawing Comics, but it’s unclear how much of their massive portfolio online started on paper and how much started on the screen.
